Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL press shots surface officially

Sony Xperia Z

The Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL have finally been introduced and their images have been released officially in their full glory. Apparently, the former is the Yuga and the latter is the Odin which was rumored to be the Xperia X. The last mentioned was supposedly gearing up to arrive in Europe, North America and parts of Asia.

The company has revealed how the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL look, but it has refrained from spilling the beans regarding the relevant availability or price details. Also, Sony has neither disclosed the specifications nor confirmed rumors that have been doing the rounds on the web. As Engadget reports, the ZL appears a tad bit thinner than the other model and sports a camera at the bottom of the front panel.

Although their specs have not been given a mention, the unofficial buzz seems to have a great deal on these smartphones. They are slated to employ a 5-inch multi-touch LCD display which can offer high definition visuals in 1080p resolution. It may be powered by the Mobile Bravia engine. Both handsets are expected to cram in similar hardware and may be the proud owners of the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor that is capable of running at a speed of 1.5GHz.

They will also be loaded with 2GB of RAM and an expansion slot that can extend support to a microSD card of probably up to 32GB capacity. Moreover, users can expect the device to deliver enhanced graphics as it purportedly hides the Adreno 320 GPU under the hood. A 13MP camera with features like auto focus, digital zoom and LED flash may dominate the rear panel and as is evident from the snapshots, both phones have been embedded with a front-mounted webcam each.

No other details regarding the Sony Xperia Z or Xperia ZL have surfaced as yet. Nevertheless, by revealing the press shots of the handsets, the OEM has confirmed that these devices are indeed on the cards. Both devices that have gone official should be unveiled at the CES 2013 which is to be held next week.
