Amidst a range of phones revealed by the company, the Sony Xperia neo L MT25i will be the first to land with the taste of Ice Cream Sandwich. Playing successor to the neo and neo V handsets launched last year, the device in question has been unveiled in China.

Apart from the Google mobile OS as its highlight, it also includes a 4-inch FWVGA display offering 854 x 480p screen resolutions. A 5MP snapper with LED flash is incorporated on the back panel of the offering. The sensor offers 720p video recording capability, while there’s a VGA front-facing camera for video conferencing too.

In terms of memory, the Xperia member sports 512MB RAM as well as 1GB internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD slot. All the aforementioned offerings are fueled by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and it operates on a 1,500mAh battery.

One of the questions staring hard at all Sony fans is whether this Ice Cream Sandwich treat is only for China or for other regions as well. While all other devices such as the Xperia sola, S, U and ion operate on the Gingerbread OS, this is the lucky one to step into the scenario with Android 4.0.

A post on Unwired View states that the smartphone may not be considered the slimmest in the terrain as it tips the scales at 131.5g with a profile measuring 121 × 61.1 ×12.2mm. With regards to the device shipping only in China, there’s no official word attached to it. Odds are that the handset will arrive in all other parts of the globe sooner or later.

The Sony Xperia neo L MT25i release date and price details have not received a mention as of now.
