Micromax X259 Solar Phone

The Micromax X259 solar phone flaunts the ability to get charged via its built-in solar panel, fitted onto the back of the device. This feature eliminates the need of plugging the phone into a socket for charging purposes. Users can simply charge it on the go, during daylight hours.

As the name hints, this handset’s battery draws power from the sun’s energy and it can offer roughly 4 hours of talk time on a single charge. For every 3 hours of charge, it can render approximately an hour or more of talk time. Additionally, its 1000mAh battery is capable of delivering a standby time of about 200 hours. This device wears a 2.4-inch QVGA screen that offers a resolution of 240 x 320p. To create extra space for content, it offers memory expandability up to 4GB.

Commenting on the device launch, Rahul Sharma, Co-Founder, Micromax, remarked, “We have been at the forefront of innovation. We have introduced many categories into this competitive Industry be it long battery life phones or dual SIM phones. With the introduction of this our intent is to get rid of the mobile phone charger by including a solar panel on the device itself.”
