Huawei Honor enters India with a sub-Rs. 20,000 price tag

Huawei Honor

The Huawei Honor has entered India with a price tag lower than Rs. 20,000, for anyone wanting to lay hands on an Android phone. And we must say, the specifications sheet seems to start off pretty impressively with an 8MP camera and 4-inch touchscreen.

The touch display we’ve mentioned above is coated with a protective layer of Corning Gorilla glass. It’s of the FWVGA type and delivers 245ppi of sharpness to visuals played out on it. Sporting a rectangular form factor, the handset comes powered by a 1.4GHz CPU and runs Gingerbread. However, Huawei does insist that it will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich in the future.

Anand Narang, Marketing Director at Huawei Devices, remarked, “What is the use of a smartphone, if you need to charge it once or twice a day? Absence of features and poor battery life are the top two reasons for Indian consumers to upgrade their smartphones. With a 3 day, single charge, Huawei Honor offers up to 9 hours of talktime, 10 hours of video and 6 hours of gaming. With industry leading features and superior technology in sync with Huawei’s brand philosophy of ‘Why Wait,’ Huawei Honor raises the bar of smartphone experience.”

As for the snapper on the back panel, it packs in AF with HDR and is accompanied by a front-facing camera for video chats and 720p recording. In terms of connectivity, the Huawei smartphone is bundled along with 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi and DLNA compatibility. It is juiced up by a 1,900mAh battery which is expected to lend it roughly 9 hours of talk time, 10 hours of video and 6 hours of gaming.

The Huawei Honor price in India is Rs. 19,990.
