Nokia is all set to stir up the affordable phone markets with its new range of handsets touted to deliver a great internet browsing experience. Nokia C2-03, C2-02 and C2-06 mobile phones feature the new Nokia Maps app which comprises pre-installed local maps and places of interest eliminating the need to download maps through the internet.

The C2-03 is a Dual SIM phone that allows owners to personalize their phone’s interface with up to five SIM cards. Changing of SIM cards is a simple process which doesn’t require users to turn off the phone or remove its battery. The C2-02 is the only single SIM phone in this range providing users with push messaging options and also a wide choice of IM providers. The C2-06 which is also a Dual SIM phone comes dressed in a variety of colors.

“These phones all offer a web, maps and messaging experience second to none in the market. And with the choice of a touch screen or a keypad, we really have made everything available and easy to use in an affordable phone that comes in both Dual or single SIM options,” explained Mary McDowell, the head of Nokia’s Mobile Phones business unit.

The three phones come loaded with stereo FM radio and a media player. Their memory can be expanded up to 32GB. The internet on these devices works on special data compression technology of the Nokia Browser which enables low surfing costs. The browser comes with a localized start page, allowing users to gain access to the most relevant content as well as easy links to history information.

The Nokia C2-02, C2-03 and C2-06 mobile phones are expected to be available in markets later this year. The C2-02 and the C2-03 will be available at an estimated retail price of $105 (approx Rs. 4,708) each and the C2-06 at $112 (approx Rs. 5,022).
