LG moves in with Optimus Black Android smartphone, features Nova display

LG Optimus Black LG Smart TV products captivate many entertainment enthusiasts since they can watch their favorite content from premium global providers like Netflix and CinemaNow. The company unleashed its Optimus Black Android smartphone at the CES 2011. The handset adorns a 4-inch Nova display which sports 700 nits of brightness for enhanced visibility.

The overall viewing experience is amplified with higher levels of brightness and pure white tones that put forth true black and white hues. This display touts to lower power consumption by about 50 percent during indoor usage. The phone comes equipped with a highly efficient 1500mAh battery. As light as 109g, the LG Optimus Black renders exceptional ergonomics and boasts of stylish attributes.

The newest entrant comes along with a set of advanced features designed for seamless access to essential apps and content. Besides, the Optimus UI 2.0 enables owners to access their messages, e-mails and missed calls from the locked screen with just one simple tap.

The Gesture UI flaunts more innovative commands, including lifting, shaking and tapping, for receiving calls, using camera mode and listening to music. The handset also features Wi-Fi Direct and a 2MP front-facing camera. The LG Optimus Black comes powered by the Android 2.2 Froyo platform with Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade capability.

The LG Optimus Black is anticipated to be rolled out globally in the first half of 2011.
