HP Veer 4G smartphone to stream in this month through AT&T

HP Veer 4G Smartphone Following its performance in the computing and printing solution domains, HP has ventured into the mobile phone realm. The company has announced that it will soon dish out the HP Veer 4G smartphone via AT&T for enthusiasts across the US. Packed with a variety of features, this sleekly designed handset has been powered by the HP webOS.

It has been revealed that the smartphone boasts of 2.6-inch touchscreen screen and a full slide-out QWERTY keypad. Flashing vibrant images, it displays messages, reminders and Facebook updates all in one view. The embedded keypad also ensures a seamless way to key in text whereas its 5MP camera captures images and videos with features such as extended depth of field and geo-tagging.

“A large majority of our customers are choosing smartphones but they don’t all want the same thing,” remarked Michael Woodward, Vice President, Mobile Device Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “HP Veer 4G gives us a highly unique and feature-rich smartphone for customers who want something a ‘little’ different.”

The handset’s neat construction and appealing looks have been complemented by efficient functionality. Designed to enable users to easily access the web, vivid applications and more, it extends an advanced browser while assimilations such as Adobe Flash Support render a smooth Internet experience. Additionally, users can store data on the handset thanks to its 8GB internal space.

“Veer is introducing the smartphone experience to a new generation of users. Its unique combination of high-end webOS smartphone features in a surprisingly compact package is just right for customers who want to do more with less,” explained Stephane Maes, Vice President of Smartphone Product Management, Palm Global Business Unit, HP.

Pre-loaded with applications such as mobile hotspot and AT&T navigator, the Veer 4G has been bundled together to offer a gratifying performance. The former makes it possible for users to connect the smartphone with approximately five Wi-Fi–enabled devices. Additionally, users can bring the AT&T Navigator into play for laying hands on full-color moving maps with clear audio and visual presentation.

Users can download numerous applications related to health and fitness, productivity, games from the redesigned webOS App Catalog. Compatible with HP Touchstone, it sports a 2.1 Stereo Bluetooth for ensuring seamless transfer of content. Besides, it has been powered by a 910mAh battery that delivers approximately 5.0 hours of talk time and approximately 300 standby hours.

The HP Veer 4G can be picked from AT&T starting May 15, 2011 at the price of $99.99 (approx. Rs. 4,471) with a two-year contract.
