HTC Merge, LG Genesis Android smartphones up for grabs via U.S. Cellular

HTC Merge Smartphone The Samsung Chrono phone recently made its way in the technological space through U.S. Cellular. The network carrier has now enriched its product portfolio with the HTC Merge and LG Genesis Android smartphones.

The HTC Merge claims to be U.S. Cellular’s first Android-powered Global Ready smartphone. Adorned by a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, this device enables users to type text messages, e-mails and browse the web using the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Users can capture crisp and sharp images with the incorporated 5 megapixel camera. The spec sheet also highlights features such as GPS, 720p video recorder, Adobe Flash 10.1 and a customizable quick key that can be used personalized with ease.

On the other hand, the LG Genesis flaunts its slim flip design which features two touchscreen displays. Fitted with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, the device amplifies the typing experience with a virtual QWERTY keyboard and Swype technology. The experience is further enhanced when the internal 3.2-inch touchscreen is paired with a wide, slide-out keyboard.

Users can click memorable moments using the 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus. The HTC Merge and the LG Genesis are powered by the Android 2.2 Froyo operating systems. Users can access more than 200,000 apps through the Android Market. These handsets come along with 8GB memory cards and are Wi-Fi hotspot capable.

The HTC Merge and LG Genesis Android smartphones can be purchased through U.S. Cellular for $149.99 (approx Rs. 6,728) after a $100 (approx Rs. 4,485) mail-in rebate with a data plan and new two-year contract.
