In an effort to meet the growing demand for sleek gadgets like smartphones which are rich in functionality, the Sharp RJ63YC100 12.1MP CMOS camera module has been introduced. The Japan based manufacturer says that this is the slimmest module developed till date and will help in reducing the thickness of gadgets like smartphones.

The company also mentions that the inspiration for this product hails from the demand for slender mobile gadgets. The length and width of this hardware are 11mm each and the height is 5.47mm, which is said to be the slimmest in the industry. This RJ63YC100 12.1MP 1/3.2-type CMOS camera is equipped with optical image stabilization and autofocus.

With the aid of this product, users can record videos in 1080p full HD. Integrated with an f2.5 lens, it offers a horizontal viewing angle of 61°. This gadget claims to be capable of capturing clear images in poor lighting conditions. Also, it should click good quality picture in situations when there are chances of blurring due to camera shake or while shooting moving subjects.

The module facilitates projecting content on an LCD TV to let users enjoy videos and images shot using this device on big screens. It can also be connected to PCs and other AV equipments. The camera is designed with a lens-shift system in the optical image stabilizer which manages the lens inside the device.

The Sharp RJ63YC100 12.1MP CMOS camera module price is revealed to be 12,000 yen (approx. Rs. 7,920). Sample shipments will commence on December 2, while volume deliveries are expected to start on January 10.
