AT&T adds Samsung Rugby II to handset line-up

Samsung Rugby 2

All those looking out for a tough, feature rich mobile phone can call it a day. AT&T is slated to add the Samsung Rugby II to their line-up of handset offerings for customers. The phone has been fitted with a 2MP camera that allows video recording. It is Bluetooth enabled and comes embedded with a microSD memory card slot.

The gadget features AT&T Video Share, Mobile Video and AT&T Mobile Music. It flaunts a durable exterior that increases its endurance to resist rough handling. It is compatible with HSPA 7.2MB/s technology provided by AT&T with which users can access the company’s 3G network when paired with expanded backhaul. The handset incorporates AT&T’s Mobile Resource Management applications, TeleNav Track and Xora GPS Timetrack.

The Samsung Rugby II is integrated with aGPS and AT&T Navigator which provides voice-guided and visual turn-by-turn driving directions with AT&T Family Map, real-time traffic alerts, automatic reroute and full-color maps. Users can also access GPS applications like AllSport GPS, Trimble Outdoors, Loopt and Where with this handset.

The device is equipped with large external speakers that facilitate the use of AT&T’s Push to Talk service. With this service an entire work group can be connected through a wireless call from a PTT session and users can set their status to available, unavailable, do not disturb and more. Owners may subscribe to AT&T’s Push to Talk service for $5 (approx. Rs.234) per month.

The Samsung Rugby II will be available starting from June 6 at AT&T retail outlets across the U.S. It can be purchased at $129.99 (approx. Rs.6,084) on a two year customer agreement.
