Motorola Droid Pro handset now comes to Verizon Wireless

Just a while back, some scuttlebutts floating around the tech market had suggested the introduction of the Motorola Droid Pro handset dressed in Verizon’s apparels. Looks like the rumors weren’t completely incorrect. The service provider has now announced that this new Android 2.2-based business smartphone will be available for pre-order beginning November 9.

Touted to be the first Android-powered handset optimized for business use, the latest device flaunts access to wireless service in over 220 countries and data coverage in more than 200 countries. Using the global-ready smartphone, owners can take advantage of 3G speeds in overall 120 nations. Pre-loaded features planked in the device include Quickoffice Mobile Suite, 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities and a QWERTY keyboard.

The 5MP Droid Pro smartphone will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores starting November 18, six days later than the alleged November 11, for $179.99 (approx Rs. 7,991) after a $100 (approx Rs. 4,439) mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will be required to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan which commences at $39.99 (approx Rs. 1,775) and a 3G Smartphone Plan for its activation.
