Samsung Omnia 2 pops up with Verizon logo

Samsung Omnia 2 Handset

Samsung had planned to release the Omnia 2 on August 23 but we guess the plan didn’t work out. So now Samsung has put up a creepy black silhouette of the Omnia 2 on their coming soon page. We are not quite sure as to what this move from Samsung means, but it looks like the company is eager to pacify prospective consumers.

The ‘coming soon’ page on the Samsung website reveals that the Omnia 2 will be made available exclusively at Verizon. The short description of the phone says that the Omnia 2 comes preloaded with the latest business and multimedia functionality. Apart form this, the page also reads that the handset will revolutionize the way users email and send text messages. The Omnia 2 runs on Windows Mobile operating system. The other notable features of the device include TouchWiz 2.0 User Interface and AMOLED screen.

Apparently, the Samsung Omnia 2 is currently available in Europe but there is no word on a release outside Europe. Another question that haunts us is, why Samsung has used a black silhouette of the Omnia 2 when images of the handset are readily available? Is some kind of promotion strategy or just a coincidence? Lets wait till the mystery unfolds.
