LG Arena Handset

The LG Arena handset also known as the KM900 has crossed the one million sales mark in just five months. The Arena was officially unveiled in February at the Mobile World Congress. The LG-KM900 was launched in India in June.

The sales of the phone have rapidly increased after its commercial launch in April. Attaining this milestone in five months has put the sales of the Arena way ahead of the LG Viewty phone. The Viewty has crossed the eight million mark since its launch in October 2007.

“We live in an age when mobile phones are tools for entertaining and staying connected to the world. The Arena was developed to draw on this trend and LG has reached the pinnacle in terms of functionality and user convenience, which has been reflected in consumer uptake,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Considering the swift sales success of the Arena it is true that real innovation comes from customers, so we will keep going out of our way to gain their insights and reflect their needs in our products.”

The success of the Arena has secured a position as one of the top three handset providers for LG. The Arena features a 3-inch WVGA screen with around 16 million colors. The 5 megapixel camera supports D1 recording along with DVD resolution videos.

The 8GB internal memory can be expanded via a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. The battery of this handset provides approximately 30 hours of continuous usage. The other notable features of the phone include Google Mobile Service, GPS, geo-tagging and sleek metal design.

The LG Arena has proved its popularity worldwide in just five months. The phone appears to be highly popular in countries like Europe, Germany, France, Hong Kong, Russia and the Middle East. The handset is currently being sold in 53 countries across the world. The phone is priced at Rs. 24,990, in India.
