Bell Mobility brings Visual Voicemail to BlackBerry smartphones

Bell Logo Bell Mobility brings Visual Voicemail to select BlackBerry smartphones in Canada. It enables easier voicemail management and synchronization without the need to call into voicemail box.

Visual Voicemail lets users effortlessly access their voice messages in any order. In fact, once they are received on the handset, users can listen to them anytime. Users can access these messages even in areas without wireless coverage like airplanes and subways.

“Visual Voicemail provides Bell Mobility clients a convenient way to manage voicemail by being able to choose which messages to listen to according to their own priorities,” said Adel Bazerghi, Senior Vice President of Products at Bell Mobility. “Being first in Canada to deliver the Visual Voicemail service on BlackBerry smartphones is another example of how BellMobility enables clients to do more things in more places.”

This service automatically synchronizes voice messages on the user’s BlackBerry smartphone with the ones in their voice mailbox. Hence, on deleting the message from the handset, it also gets deleted from the voice mailbox.

Users can choose the order of messages to be reviewed which further adds to the flexibility. With the Visual Voicemail, users can review, delete and forward messages and also save critical messages directly using the device’s onboard memory or MicroSD/SDHC memory card.

Visual Voicemail works on HSPA as well as EVDO networks in Canada and across the globe. It is now available on BlackBerry Bold 9700,
BlackBerry Tour 9630, BlackBerry Curve 8330, BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphones. It is expected to be available on additional BlackBerry devices in the future.

Users can access Visual Voicemail from their BlackBerry smartphones at $8 per month.
