HTC HD2 with HTC Sense launched in India

HTC HD2 HTC takes the wrap off its HD2 Windows phone with HTC Sense, in India. The device features a high-resolution 4.3-inch ‘capacitive touch’ display and promises to deliver sharper and brighter content.

The device is powered with the Qualcomm 1Ghz Snapdragon mobile processor. This helps offer an enhanced performance with improved speed of several applications. The HD2 is said to use the first ‘capacitive touch’ display on a Windows phone. This results into easily viewing, zooming and resizing websites, Microsoft Office files, PDF documents and pictures with a pinch of the finger.

Tata DoCoMo has announced an exclusive offer for its subscribers. On purchasing the HTC HD2, they get an exclusive offer to browse the Internet and download 500MB of data per month for free for a period of six months. The HTC HD2 runs on the Windows Mobile 6.5, showcasing the powerful messaging, browsing and productivity capabilities.

Announcing the launch of the HTC HD2 for Tata DoCoMo customers, Gurinder Singh Sandhu, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata DoCoMo, said, “Tata DoCoMo is a young brand that recently rolled out GSM services across 15 Circles within a span of five months and has received an enthusiastic response. When we launched our GSM services, we had promised our subscribers that we would bring to them the best products and services. Living up to that brand promise, we are launching the HTC HD2 phones for our customers. Infact we will be premiering the HTC HD2 exclusively at Tata DoCoMo Dive-In stores so that customers may have a first hand experience of the world’s biggest touch screen phone.”

The device claims to offer the best in e-mail experience with the ability to synchronize with Microsoft Exchange. Its My Phone service enables offer automatic backup and synchronising of photos, music, contacts and text messages to the web.

The HTC HD2 is said to carry a price tag of Rs. 39,990 in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh while it will be priced at Rs. 36,990 in the other parts of the nation. The device is available through authorised HTC resellers.
