The Google Android platform is certainly being snapped up as the new mobile OS standard by smartphone manufacturers all over. Samsung Electronics is the latest to ride on the Android bandwagon with their Galaxy Spica i5700 phone.

This Android-powered smartphone performs with an 800MHz application processor to accommodate a huge array of Android Market applications. File format conversions are made redundant with the phone’s DivX format support. The audio system features DSNe 2.0 for enhanced sound quality and a 3.5mm earphone jack.

Galaxy Spica i5700 proffers the complete set of Google services consisting of Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube and Google Talk. Its 13.2mm slim chassis houses a 1500mAh battery. Additionally, the device also allows for seamless connectivity to social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and more.

Samsung’s Galaxy Spica i5700 is out across Europe and CIS as of now and will be introduced in the MEA region at a later date.
