Nokia kicks off charger exchange program

Nokia Logo

Offering superior service to their users, Nokia started a charger exchange program, in which consumers possessing specific Nokia-branded chargers manufactured by a third-party supplier can substitute these chargers, for free replacements.

During a usual quality control procedure, Nokia recognized a possible product quality concern with a few chargers manufactured by one of its third-party suppliers. They found that the plastic covers of these chargers could become loose and separate, thereby exposing the charger’s internal mechanism. This could cause an electrical shock danger if some internal components come in contact with the body when the charger is plugged into a live socket. Nokia claims to have not been informed of any events or injuries associated with these chargers.

Only a restricted amount of chargers of some specific model kinds manufactured by a particular third-party supplier during definite time duration are within the range of the exchange program. These models include the AC-3E and AC-3U, manufactured between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009; and the AC-4U model, produced between April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009.

Users who wish to verify whether their chargers are part of this exchange program can check out the company’s chargerexchange.com or their local Nokia website.

This program is only applicable on Nokia 7210 in India.
