Motorola to launch MOTO W233 Renew and MOTOSURF A3100 Phones at CES

Motorola will celebrate the new year with the launch of two new mobile phones, namely MOTO W233 Renew and MOTOSURF A3100. Both the phones are set to debut at the CES 2009.

MOTO W233 Renew is touted to be the world’s first mobile phone developed by using recycled plastic water bottles, whereas the MOTOSURF A3100 is a high-speed touch tablet with a complete-personalized home screen.

The carbon-neutral MOTO W233 Renew handset is designed by Motorola in conjunction with Carbonfund.org, attaining Carbonfund.org’s Carbon Product Certification after an extensive product life-cycle assessment. Even the box of the phone is created with 100% post-consumer recycled paper.

Feature wise, the candy-bar Renew offers nine hours of talk time, CrystalTalk technology, up to 2 GB microSD cards support and messaging capabilities.

While, the feature-rich touch tablet, MOTOSURF A3100 features include a 2.8-inch customizable home screen, omni-directional trackball and support for Windows Mobile 6.1 software with various applications. The social smartphone’s home screen icons can be personalized by presenting ‘live’ feeds on weather, news, personal and work e-mail, messaging and calendar events.

In addition, it also comes with a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus and VGA secondary camera, support for 32 GB microSD cards, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, MP3s, video conferencing, Facebook update and aGPS to navigate.

While the MOTO W233 Renew is slated to be available via T-Mobile in Q1 2009, the MOTOSURF A3100 is scheduled to hit the Asian and Latin American markets by the same time. However, there is no mention on pricing.
