Nokia has launched its 6600i mobile phone in India. Claiming to be Nokia’s smallest 5 megapixel slider handset, it was released back in May. This phone promises to deliver excellent imaging and sharing capabilities.

Nokia 6600i comes equipped with 5 megapixel camera and auto focus. The camera is capable of delivering up to 8x zoom and also boasts of dual LED flash which enhances the quality of the images. The steel cover and chrome center key portrays simplicity and style. The phone incorporates tactful tap commands for lighting up the display, snooze alerts and silencing or rejecting incoming calls.

This slider supports XHTML browser, OMA DRM 1.0 and 2.0 and Java MIDP 2.0. These services enable user to share their images and videos with ease. To find your way through new and unfamiliar places, the Nokia maps embedded in this device prove useful. The Nokia phone is capable of supporting various file formats like MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA. The FM radio and the stereo headsets prove to be an added advantage.

Based on the series 40 platform, the 6600i also supports WCDMA 850/2100, GSM/EGSM quad-band 850/900/1800/1900. The Bluetooth 2.0 and Micro USB connectivity are also included in this phone. Nokia 6600i comes with 20MB in-built memory, which can be expanded up to 16GB via a micro SD card. Measuring 3.7(h) x 1.8(W) x 0.6(D) the device weighs only 3.9 ounces.

The Nokia 6600i will be available in the Indian markets soon but the pricing of the device is still under wraps.
