Samsung INNOV8 i8510M phone clears FCC test, to launch in US via AT&T

Samsung INNOV8 i8510M Phone Samsung’s INNOV8 has passed the FCC test and is all geared up to hit the North American market through AT&T with some variation. Also known as Samsung i8510, the revamped smartphone will work on dual-band UMTS (850/1900MHz) with HSDPA. It supports AT&T’s 3G data network.

With lot many features similar to the previous model, the current version sports an 8-megapixel camera with image stabilization, dual-LED flash, autofocus, smile-detection, face-detection and blink-detection features.

The Symbian S60-based device’s features include a 2.8-inch LCD with 320×240 resolution and the ability to automatic geo-tag images with their location. It supports A-GPS. It also allows users to capture 320×240 video at 120fps, or 640×480 video at 30fps and even edit them.

Furthermore, the upgraded INNOV8 also features with 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 support and onboard memory of 8GB or 16GB with expandable microSD card support.

Approved for sale in North America by the FCC, the Samsung INNOV8 smartphone is expected to reach the market in the first half of 2009. The device will also be available in Canada via Rogers. The existing Samsung INNOV8 model is already available in UK via O2 and in India.
