Samsung J800 Luxe and L870 Slider Phones Introduced

Samsung J800 Luxe and L870 Samsung has launched two new slider mobile phones, known as J800 Luxe and L870 at the Singapore Telecom Exhibition 2008.

Before we start giving details about this phone, let us clear one thing before hand. Don’t think that this is a luxury phone; it just the stylish name. The J800 Luxe phonemeasures 15mm and features a 2.2-inch 256K TFT display that throws a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, a 2 megapixel camera with a photo blog function to directly upload the images onto the blogs using 3G connection.

The Tri-band handset also employs Bluetooth with an A2DP profile, microSD card support, a media player and FM radio with RDS as well as an integrated document viewer, HTML Browser and POP3/IMAP4 mail client. The mid-range slider phone also incorporates Samsung’s Mobile Tracker.

The other slider phone is called the L870. Based on the Symbian OS, the handset carries dimensions of just 13.5mm. It sports a 3 megapixel auto-focus camera, a 2.4-inch TFT display with QVGA resolution and 16 million colors, compatible with tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA 3.6Mbps for fast wireless data transfers.

In addition, the L870 phone is packed with FM radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, along with 100MB onboard storage space with support for memory card slot (up to 4 GB microSD card).

While there is no word on the price and availability of Samsung J800 Luxe handset, the Samsung L870 is schedule to hit the European market by August this year. However, price is yet to be announced.
