Motorola Hydrogen-powered Moto SLVR L7 Showcased

Hydrogen-powered Moto SLVR L7 At CES 2008, Motorola presented its new version of mobile phones, the Moto SLVR L7. This device is not a traditional mobile phone. It has been powered by an Angstrom Power EverOn hydrogen fuel cell.

No need to use the usual lithium ion battery. This is certainly a positive approach for saving the environment. This latest green battery fits into a normal mobile phone. The environment-friendly fuel cell just needs over 10 minutes to get fully charged.

Jerry Hallmark, a spokesman for Motorola, commented, “Despite the lack of hydrogen refueling products in the market, the need for “efficient powering solutions” was growing.”

As we all know, Lithium ion batteries clog up landfill sites, contaminate water sources and are not that efficient as methanol fuel cell. We expect this fuel cell to be placed into the handsets for better environment.

At present, the company is in the trial phase since six months. Motorola might launch these Hydrogen-powered batteries by 2010.
