Alltell rolls out LG Glimmer Slider Phone

LG Glimmer LG and Alltel have introduced LG’s new phone Glimmer, which will be available from 13th March in Alltel retail stores and online at shopalltel.com. Glimmer is a slide-out keypad and touch-screen interface. In addition, it also incorporates traditional phone functions with the latest multimedia features.

Some of the key features of the LG Glimmer are:

  • A 2 MP camera with video capabilities
  • An MP3 player with customizable equalizer
  • 128MB of internal memory
  • An expandable memory slot
  • GPS capabilities
  • 3D graphics support

    • Also, Glimmer is equipped with Alltel’s Axcess applications such as Alltel Navigation, Axcess Search, CityID and Axcess TV. LG’s Glimmer also supports Alltel’s new service, Axcess Voice2TXT. This service is capable of converting voicemails to text messages.

    “With touch-screen phones revolutionizing wireless, the LG Glimmer from Alltel has an innovative new touch interface while offering the convenience of a slide-out physical keypad,” stated Brian Ullem, vice president of device strategy for Alltel Wireless. “Its large display and multimedia capabilities allow our customers to access and manage their video and music with a simple touch.”

    The Glimmer will be available with Alltel Wireless for $249.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate.
