Samsung displays a Portfolio of 18 Phones at Mobile Asia 2008

Samsung Logo Samsung Telecomm has showcased a new range of mobile phones at Mobile Asia 2008, which is taking place in New Delhi. These newly launched mobile phones include SGH –i450, SGH-G800, F490, i550, D 880, i780, F250 and J210.

The Samsung SGH-i450 is a music-dedicated phone featuring 3D surround sound experience powered by ICE Power amplifiers from Bang & Olufsen. Also it possesses the revolutionary Music wheel and the Dual-Slider form factor. Some of the other features of the i450 phone are Symbian S60 OS allowing third party application hosting and attributes such as document reader/editor and e-mailing. EDGE, a 2.4” LCD screen and a robust internal memory of 40GB are the few additional features of this phone. The SGH-i450 is available in the Indian market at the price of Rs. 15,000.

The SGH-G800 device belongs to Samsung’s Metal series and is equipped with a 5MP camera phone with 3x optical zoom. The camera boasts photography features like face detection, Xenon flash and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). The G800 will also allow sharing images and videos. The Samsung G800 is priced at Rs 21,799.

Like G800, the F490 also features a 5MP camera but is dedicated towards multimedia experience. A 3.2-inch large TFT display and Touch user interface are some of its key features.

Samsung has also taken care of business dedicated phones. The new i550, D 880, i780 are especially made for consumers needing business features. All of them are powered by Symbian S60 operating system.

The i550 boasts built GPS Receiver and five hot keys provided for music, camera, navigation, internet and main menu. It also has few entertainment attributes like 3MP camera and capability to support Bluetooth audio streaming. The price of the i550 will be approximately Rs 25,000.

The D 880 is a dual GSM sim phone featuring 3.2MP Camera, 2.3-inch Wide LCD screen, Bluetooth and Stereo FM radio, and is priced at 13,799.

The SGH-i780 is a sleek smart device featuring a full QWERTY keyboard and full touch screen. It works on Windows Mobile 6.0 and features push email, MS Office, MSN Chat; GPS capabilities, an optical mouse, Wi-fi support and 2MP camera.

While the F250 and J210 are comparatively low-end phones. The F250 is a mass music phone featuring an advanced Music UI , a 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth, music console (hot key) and Stereo FM. It will be available in orange, green and white colors and will be priced at Rs 7699. On the other hand, the J210 sports a 2MP, FM recording and Bluetooth music streaming. It will be available in the Indian market at Rs 6649.

Apart from the above mentioned phones, Samsung also introduced a lifestyle range of phones like Soul and Serenata. The Soul is targeted at providing features like Portability and Multi-functionality. It is as slim as 12.9mm. On the other hand, Soul is also equipped with a 5MP camera. Whereas the Serenata is a music phone offering elegant design and SRS, Wow sound.

Samsung has also displayed two high-end phones like Samsung Armani and Mobile TV phone called Samsung P960. Likewise nearly 18 Samsung phones are on display at Mobile Asia 2008.
