3G iPhone Apple and AT&T have planned to roll out an iPhone that is capable of working on 3G Networks, by early next year. This version will help iPhone users to surf the internet at fast speeds.

The third generation of mobile phone standard and technology – the 3G network is popular for its fast speed and its network that also works in areas where cellular service is available.

AT&T Chief Executive Officer Randall Stephenson announced at an event of the Churchill Club in Santa Clara, California, “You’ll have it next year.” However, he declined to disclose the cost of the new version.

Earlier in September, Steve Jobs – Apple CEO had announced the possibility of a 3G iPhone coming soon with fundamental technologies that supports a fast network. He also mentioned that if the iPhone supports a faster network, then the battery life will be too short as the 3G chips are ‘real power hogs’. At present, the iPhone offers eight hours of battery life.

Currently, the device that combines the features of the iPod music player and a mobile handset is exclusively working on the AT&T carrier in US.
