The iPhone has been launched in France by Orange. France Telecom’s Orange is predicting nearly half a million users in a year’s time with the launch of Apple’s innovative phone.

Didier Lombard, head of Orange is expecting a sale of 1,00,000 iPhones by end of the year.

According to Reuters, Lombard told to Le Figaro newspaper that the unlocked iPhone would be sold for 649 euros, and if the user wants to use any other network, he will have to shell out an additional 100 euros.

Earlier the iPhone went on sale in the US and European countries such as UK and Germany. In Germany the iPhone is available at the price of 999 euros with the contract. While in the UK, O2 offers the iPhone at £269.

The British have voted out the iPhone as a Christmas gift saying it is too expensive. Now let’s see how well the French accept the Apple’s phone.
