HFCL Ping Mobile Service Announced in Punjab

Pay exactly for the time of usage in terms of seconds, instead of minutes based charging.

HFCL logo HFCL Infotel Ltd., the leaders in fixedline and broadband services in Punjab, has released a new mobile service called the Ping exclusive for Punjab and Chandigarh locals.

With Ping, HFCL provides the latest offer that includes one paise for second of call charges as well the advantage of single second billing.

“Ping is the most fun-packed bouquet for the consumers, with low tariff, cost effective handset and host of value added services providing true value for money to the customer. It is for the first time in the country that any mobile operator has offered a unique consumer-friendly pulse rate of one paise per second, and a SIM-based feature-rich colour mobile handset for as low as Rs.999,”said Surendra Lunia, CEO of HFCL Infotel.

The features of the new Ping-based service handset include a speaker, a large phone book and voice recording facility. Thus, enabling the owner to enjoy the ‘Jiyo Non-Stop’, which has been promised by the Ping.

Moreover, procured from world’s leading manufacturers ZTE and Huawei, the mobile phone with the service is expected to be available in 50 towns and 5,000 villages of Punjab and Chandigarh on the CDMA platform.

G D Singh, Chief Operating Officer, HFCL Infotel Ltd., said, Around Rs. 100 crores have been invested for the service. The existing Connect landline subscribers have been offered ‘Valued customer advantage’ under which the bundled Ping mobile handset with connection costing Rs.1298 would be available to them for an effective amount of Rs.698 only.”

To reach out to 3,00,000 new subscribers, the company has set up a state-wide distribution network of 8,000 retail outlets as well as a very large number of broadband and basic telephony services pan-Punjab.

The SIM-based color mobile will cost only Rs. 999. It even offers free 6,000 minutes of on-net calls along with a free Ping Tunes subscription for one month.
