Is Apple working on cheaper version of iPhone?

Cheaper Versiosn iPhones Seems Apple has started working on cheaper variants of iPhone.

American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu said that he believes that the company is reacting to the market pressure to make such a move.

He further added, “Apple needs to round out its iPhone product line at lower price points (similar to iPod) if it expects to replicate the success of its iPod with sales of 100 million units.”

Shaw Wu added, “We believe one overlooked advantage iPhone may have over other smartphones is that when making calls, its virtual dialer has no extra clutter, and it is likely easier to dial unprogrammed phone numbers than on fixed QWERTY keyboards.”

Apple launched the iPod Shuffle and iPod nano players after launching the regular iPod to meet the demand of the people who wanted a cheaper solution. Thus, people are expecting iPhone Shuffle and iPhone nano too.

The first iPhone is launching on June 29 and it will cost $499 for the 4GB and $599 for 8GB of memory.
