Nokia 6301 UMA Mobile Phone Announced

Nokia has unveiled its new sleek stainless steel handset, dubbed Nokia 6301. Featuring Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) technology, the mobile phone delivers seamless voice and data mobility across GSM cellular and WLAN networks.

The UMA phone also provides both landline and mobile phone benefit with flawless indoor coverage, sound quality and affordability. The user can have one multi-mode handset that works everywhere with enhanced and easy-to-use voice services.

Nokia also offers a stand called Nokia Desk Stand DT-23, to hold the phone and keep its battery charged while connected to WLAN.

The features of the Nokia 6301 include a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and full screen viewfinder. It also sports 2-inch QVGA screen, USB/PC Synchronization, MP3 player, FM radio, an integrated hands-free speaker and internal user memory of 30MB and 128MB in-box microSD card, with support for up to 4GB microSD cards.

For operators, Nokia 6301 with UMA offers voice and data services to subscribers over WLAN, substantially increasing mobile service availability while decreasing the costs related to network deployment. Moreover, Orange is one of the first operators to get Unik/Unique portfolio of the Nokia 6310.

In addition, Nokia 6301 can work continuously for up to 3.5 hours (talk-time) and 14 days (stand-by).

Nokia 6301 UMA mobile device will be available in Europe by end of this year with the suggested price of Euros 230 (approx. Rs. 12,880).
