Sulekha.com, a popular Indian portal has announced to introduce classifieds ads on mobile handsets. That means users can now view classifieds on their mobile phones too, apart from the conventional print and online mediums.
The new feature will also enable users to receive responses for their classified advertisements through SMS. All users having WAP enabled phone can browse through the Sulekha classifieds at regular GPRS charges.
“India is emerging as a forerunner in using the cell phone as a tool to access the Internet, with one in every 11 people logging on to the web being an Indian. Classified ads on the mobile phones offer an instant, inexpensive and user-friendly medium available 24×7. It clearly obviates the need for logging on to a computer with internet access,†stated Satya Prabhakar, Founder and CEO, Sulekha.com.

Ads are first validated by Sulekha.com’s customer care before they are available for display on the mobile phones. The mobile ads will also appear on regular web page of sulekha.com.
