Nokia N800 Nokia, leading mobile phone manufacturer, has announced the upgrading of the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet device. It has upgraded the Linux-based operating system adding Skype voice over Internet Protocol software along with the latest version of the Adobe Flash player.

The owner of the N800 can now download free software update. This enables the owners to make Skype calls when connected to WiFi. For installing, initially, the user needs to upload and run the software on a Windows, Mac OS X or Linux computer, and then connect the device to the machine for the update.

The device also comes with the firmware support for up to 16MB of external storage. The tablet will feature two SD slots, Adobe Flash 9 plug-in, 8GB solid-state flash memory cards, 128MB of RAM giving extra space for music and videos.

The pocket-size rectangular device is compatible with Wi-Fi for connecting to the Web, but does not have a cellular connection. It also gives speakers and a microphone, for internet calling. Furthermore, Nokia offers second Internet telephony service to the tablet, which currently supports Google Talk, Google’s VoIP service. However, Skype is among the world’s largest VoIP services.
