Verizon intros first CDMA-enabled BlackBerry Pearl 8130

BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and Verizon logo Verizon has announced the availability of the world’s first CDMA-enabled BlackBerry Pearl 8130 Smartphone, targeting customers who want to balance their work and stay in touch with loved ones through Verizon’s wireless broadband connectivity.

For business users, this new Blackberry Pearl gives powerful communications, rich multimedia and support for high-speed EV-DO networks.

Regarding the GPS function, the CDMA-enabled phone comes with in-built navigation capabilities with more than 14 million points of interest, audible turn-by-turn navigation and supports location-based application, VZ Navigator that is developed by Networks in Motion, with map data provided by Navteq.

Voice Activated Dialing, speakerphone and noise and echo cancellation technology for clearer calls are also equipped into the device. It also features a 2.0 megapixel camera with flash and 5x zoom. With the media players and improved desktop media manager software, consumers can easily manage music and pictures between the computer and their 8130.

Verizon offer Wireless broadband (EV-DO) connectivity for the user to enjoy high-speed data transfer, fast web browsing and downloading functions.

Additionally, Blackberry Pearl also sports 3.5 mm stereo headphone, microSD/ SDHC memory card slot that can expand the storage capacity up to 8GB and SureType keyboard technology, allowing typing and dialing faster and easily with the help of built-in spell checker, easier editing of misspelled words and new word completion capability.

It comes bundled with Bluetooth 2.0 connection for hands-free headsets, Bluetooth stereo audio profile A2DP/AVRCP headsets, car kits and other Bluetooth accessories. The device works on rechargeable battery that offers up to 220 minutes of talk time and up to 216 hours of standby time.

Verizon Wireless has announced the online availability of BlackBerry Pearl 8130 that starts from 3rd Novembers, whereas it will be available on Verizon stores from 8th November this year for $250 (approx. Rs. 10,000).
