Canon splashes in with 15 new products

Canon Pixma MX876 The last we heard from Canon was about their imageFormula P-150M personal scanner. Canon has announced the launch of 15 new products, including the Pixma MX876 all-in-one printer, across India. The list includes two single format Inkjet printers, three all-in-one printers, two laser printers, six projectors, one scanner and one laser multi-function device.

Each of new printers comes equipped with Wi-Fi for internet connectivity as well as ChromaLife100+ System. Besides delivering ISO standard speed, the devices offer users complete security and claim to be eco-friendly. The Wi-Fi print function allows users to print from various platforms like Windows and Macintosh without wires. The printers have now been integrated with Canon’s Send Lite technology that allows scanning of documents directly to e-mail addresses or network.

“Canon is known to be using state of the art technologies in creating new propositions to the customers constantly. We have shaped our marketing techniques to make such propositions relevant to young and aspiring consumers. Today’s launch of 15 new products increases our range to 82 and will be an engine of our transformation to leadership position in inkjet segment,” explained Alok Bharadwaj, Senior VP, Canon India.

The all-in-one printers Pixma AIO MX347, MX357 and MX876 are Wi-Fi enabled. The devices can be connected to each other through a USB 2.0, network cable or Wi-Fi. The LBP6650dn printer permits direct printing in JPEG and TIFF formats. The in-built Remote UI eliminates the need to install printer drivers. The LBP6300dn and LBP6650n printers incorporate the output tray sensor that pauses printing once the tray if full. Printing resumes once the tray is cleared.

The company boasts of offering the highest contrast ratio of 2000:1 in the projector category. Canon boasts of introducing the LV7285, LV7280 and the Auto Iris Mode. The last mentioned function enables the projectors to adjust the amount of light being projected. In case of a dark picture, the projector will automatically alter the contrast ratio from 500:1 to 2000:1.

Canon has reveled plans to plans to launch 100 PIXMA Wi-Fi enabled printing zones across 12 cities by December 2010. The company’s Smiley Program offers additional warranty, discounts on cartridges and more to those who purchased a Canon printer on any day starting from June 1.
