Now dog owners will be able to find their missing dogs. Thanks to the dog collar-based SatNav technology. The navigation systems company showcased the lockable collar at the Crufts Show.

The collar is made of anti-cut material, which will be able to trace an animal even if it is inside a building.

The system sends text messages on the owner’s mobile phone when the dog crosses a certain boundary.

“Dog theft is out there but it’s not high on the list of police priorities, for obvious reasons. But for owners or families, if a dog gets lost it is a traumatic experience,” said Andrew Stuart, director SatNav to Times Online.

This dog collar is expected to go on sale in the UK by July. The device will cost around 200 pounds and monthly service charges will be extra.
