Updated MacBook Pro range unveiled by Apple

In spite of being a favorable change, Apple went about with introducing some alterations in its MacBook Pro range without much trumpet blast. It rather subtly got the entire range refreshed, with technical changes in the processors, hard drives, graphics, and more.

This revival was expected for quite a time now, and rumors hinted at an early November arrival for the new MacBook Pro series. The 13-inch device, which is priced at $1,199 (approx. Rs. 59,740) now sports a 2.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor along with a 500GB 5400-rpm hard drive. Following this, the 13-inch $1,499(approx. Rs. 74,687) model now offers a 2.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor, 750GB 5400-rpm hard drive, and Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory.

The three other models with a 15- and 17-inch screen have also undergone similar upgrades. The 15-inch device priced at $1,799 (approx. Rs. 89,635) starts with a 2.2GHz quad-core Core i7 processor while the $2,199 (approx. Rs. 1, 09,565) version with the same screen size flaunts a 2.4GHz quad-core Core i7 now. Both these models will now possess 4GB of 1333MHz RAM, accompanied by 500GB and 750GB hard-drives respectively.

The latter in this set will also be graced with an AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics with 1GB of video memory. The sole option in the 17-inch category can now boast of a quad-core 2.4GHz Core i7 processor and HD 6770M 1GB graphics, along with 4GB of RAM and 750GB hard-drive. The 17-inch model is priced at $2,499(approx. Rs. 1, 24,512).
