Asus Fold/Unfold Concept Laptop to be available by late 2009?

Asus Fold/Unfold Concept Laptop Asus unfolds its latest plan to roll out a unique computer device by the end of this year. TechRadar, who interviewed the CEO of Asus – Jerry Shen, revealed that Asus will soon unveil the Fold/Unfold laptop that is in a conceptual stage at present.

Initially presented at CES, the Fold/Unfold laptop is supposedly developed in the lines of MacBook Air. However, it is believed that the notebook PC will create another category with the image and various other features, not following the tradition of MacBook Air. Instead, the company plans to generate a similar momentum with its different, exciting and original design.

Like ‘Seashell’ Eee PC 1008, the Fold/Unfold laptop will work on the latest polymer battery that would provide up to five hours of battery life. Other than that, the rumor has it that the laptop will employ a keyboard that has the ability to slide backwards whenever the display is opened for maximum space for keys, a trackpad and a palm rest.

Finally talking about the price, the Asus Fold/Unfold laptop is expected to cost between $1,000 and $1,500 (approx. Rs 50,449 and Rs. 75,674). The computing device is slated to arrive around the September/October period of 2009.
