Asus UX Series Notebook

Asus has annunced its new UX series of notebooks claiming that now users won’t have to compromise on functionality for stylish looks. These notebooks inspired by the butterfly claims to provide both stylish looks with functionality. The side view of this thin and lightweight device resembles the wings of a butterfly. These notebooks are said to be specifically designed for style conscious professionals.

The UX50V and UX30 both include Express Gate that claims to enable users to access applications such as instant messaging, multimedia manager and the Internet in just 8 seconds.

The UX50V and UX30 let users choose among Intel Core2 Duo Processor SU9600/SU9400, Intel Core2 Solo Processor SU3500/SU3300, and Intel Pentium Processor SU2700. These notebooks also feature Intel GS45 chipset, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 802.11 a/b/g/n and DDR2 800MHz memory up to 4GB.

The UX50V supports Windows Vista Home Premium and includes a 15.5” flushed LED- backlit HD display. The notebook has dimensions 385mm (W) x 257.8mm (L) x 18.6-28.6mm (H) and weighs only 2.6kg. The device also features NVIDIA GeForce G 105M with 512MB VRAM graphics card, 320GB / 500GB hard disk drive and slot-in DVD Super-multi drive.

The UX30 features 13.3″ flushed LED-backlit HD display, Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card, 250GB/ 320GB / 500GB hard disk drive and External Optical Disk Drive support. The device supports both Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium. Measuring 328mm (W) x 222mm (L) x 23mm (H), the notebook weighs only 1.6 Kg.
