Asus unwraps Gaming-oriented G51 Notebook

Asus G51 Gaming Notebook One more alternative is out in the market for gaming enthusiasts. In words of Electronista, Asus offers consumers an uber-cool notebook, dubbed the G51, particularly for gaming purposes.

The concept of the gaming laptop is believed to be in the similar lines of the rival Alienware systems. Perhaps, it is unblemished in a stylized “robot” design and packs in high-end performance specifications.

At the heart of the machine, there might be Intel’s Core 2 Quad processor that clocks at either 2 or 2.26GHz. Users may even opt for the supposed 2GHz or 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo processor.

Other assumed features include a 15.6-inch LED backlit display that sports a 16:9 widescreen ratio, a GeForce GTX 260M graphics and 1GB of onboard VRAM that can be expanded to up to 4GB of 800MHz DDR2 RAM. The hard drive is the most interesting option, offering up to 1TB of storage capacity.

Additional hardware preferences are a Blu-ray drive, an illuminated keyboard and a 2.0 megapixel camera.

Though there is no specific pricing and release date of the Asus G51 notebook, it is presumed to go on sale in July 2009 for a price range between $1,300 (approx. Rs. 61,256) and $1,500 (approx. Rs. 70,680).
