Guess the beginning of the year has bundled up a handful of speculations. We have just heard that a new Mac mini will be announced at Macworld Expo 2009, a few confident sources tell TUAW.
Though many details of the new Mac Mini are uncertain some interesting specs have started cropping up, says the report. Well, a SATA optical drive has replaced its internal optical drive, apparently, with the built-to-order option you can swap it for another SATA hard drive.
The ones who are using the Mac Mini at departmental / small business servers will benefit with the second hard drive and the RAID 1 mirroring also becomes easier. Say goodbye to the external drives as there will be ample of space.
The dimensions of the new Mac Mini are unclear but supposedly it will not feature the white plastic surface but will adorn black plastic and aluminum. It will come with “lip†just like Time Capsule. The optical disk slot will be under the lip and it will also offer cooling, thus eliminating the vents.
