MacBook Air hacked in Just Two Minutes!

MacBook Air

MacBook Air has been hacked and that too in just two minutes. Can you believe it? In a Pwn to Own contest sponsored by TippingPoint, a team of security researchers won the prize of $10,000 for hacking a MacBook Air in such a short time.

ISE security researchers, Charlie Miller, Jake Honoroff and Mark Daniel hacked the slimmest notebook on Thursday, which was the second day of the competition.

On the first day participants only attacked on networks of the operating system, in which nobody succeeded. On the second day participants attacked on default client-side applications such as Web browser, e-mail, IM.

Participants had a choice of hacking on various systems like Apple MacBook Air running OS X 10.5.2, Sony Vaio VGN-TZ37CN running Ubuntu 7.10 and a Fujitsu U810 running Vista Ultimate SP1.

However, no information regarding the technique of the hacking was disclosed as it would have been revealed the vulnerability of the operating system.

There is no word from Apple regarding the hacking of its latest notebook.
