Samsung launches ultra-lightweight X460 Notebook

Samsung has raised the curtains on its latest X460 notebook. This slim computing device weighs only 1.9 kg and is said to be one of the lightest laptop in its 14.1-inch class.

Powered by Intel Centrino 2 processor technology, the X460 comes equipped with a high performance nVIDIA GeForce Go 9200M GS graphics card, an integrated optical disk drive, a 14.1-inch Flat-LED WXGA (1280 x 800) Gloss screen, a 1.3 megapixel digital motion camera, 7-in-1 memory card reader and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.

It also inlcudes 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN connection, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, modem and Samsung P-Dock docking station. Security wise, the laptop features biometric fingerprint and trusted platform module (TPM) authentication system to protect the confidential data.

Furthermore, the elegant laptop also includes 120 to 320 GB of HDD, a Super Multi Drive burner with Light Scribe, up to 4 GB RAM, 5 x USB, LAN, HDMI, SIO, e-SATA and DVI connectivity.

The X460 notebook also features an anti-bacterial keyboard that utilizes Silver Nano Technology to keep the keyboard bacteria free. Running on 6-cell battery, the X460 promises to deliver up to 5 hours of continuous operations.

Coming to the design and body, the notebook makes use of Protect-o-Edge magnesium alloy casing for reliability, and brushed aluminum plate on the back of the screen for durability.

The stylish Samsung X460 laptop is schedule to hit the European market by October. It carries a price tag of £999 (approx. Rs. 85,146).
