Intel Classmate PC Coming Soon in the US and European Markets

Intel Classmate PC Intel has launched the Classmate PC in the Indian market. Now it is moving towards the western countries. Intel has announced the plan to release its low-cost computer in the US and European market.

Although the main objective of Intel was to make the Classmate PC available to poor school children in developing markets, while developing the Classmate PC, Intel gradually planned to sell it to companies that want to sell it to consumers in developed countries as well.

The microprocessor industry giant denies naming the PC manufacturer who will sell the Intel Classmate PC in the US and Europe. However, the price range is known; the machine will cost around $250 to $350 (approx. Rs. 10,000 – 14,000).

Before penning down the conclusion, the company carried out pilot tests of these machines at some schools in the United States and Australia. Countries where the Intel Classmate PC, are already available include India, Mexico and Indonesia.

Powered by Celeron M processor, the cost-effective PC features a 7-inch screen, 512 MB RAM with 1GB and 2GB flash memory.
