MSI Wind Laptop Available for Pre-order in US and UK

MSI Wind Laptop The recently introduced MSI Wind notebook PC is now available for pre-order via online retailer eXpansys. The laptop, which is said to be Asus Eee PC’s rival, will hit the US and UK market. When we initially reported about the device, there were two versions available with different screen size.

The online store will sell a 10-inch notebook edition that delivers a resolution of 1024×600 resolutions. It features 1.6GHz Atom processor, a larger 80GB hard drive, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth, 1GB of RAM and Windows XP OS support. It also comes with embedded LED power-saving backlight technology, which allows superior color richness and brightness.

Shining in black, pink and white color options, the MSI Wind will start shipping in June for an estimated cost of $604. To buy the Linux version, customers need to pay $560. However, MSI hasn’t officially commented on the Wind’s US launch.

In Europe, the Windows XP-based Wind will retail for £350 ($684) and the Linux-based one would be priced at £320. However, eXpansys chose to remain mum about the 8.9-inch Wind laptop.
