Samsung X360 Notebook

AuthenTec has announced that its small form factor AES1610 is incorporated as a standard feature on Samsung’s consumer notebook X360, thus offers convenient security of fingerprint biometrics.

Samsung X360 is a multimedia PC that enhances mobility and security. It leverages the Power of Touch features offered by AuthenTec’s AES1610 sensor.

The X360 is powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 processor technology and packs in 3 USB ports, a built-in HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) connection, a 34mm express card slot and VGA output. It is the lightest notebook in Samsung’s 13.3-inch class as it weighs only 2.8pounds.

AuthenTec’s AES1610 is among the several small form factor sensors offered by the company for PC and wireless market. It is based on the TruePrint technology and delivers accurate and reliable fingerprint imaging. It reads below the surface of the skin on the live layer where your true fingerprint resides. The subsurface approach lets AuthenTec sensors overcome common skin surface conditions and read virtually every fingerprint. It is said to be available in Russia, China, Hong Kong and Europe including UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
