Asus Ultimate and Pro Fashion Eee PCs to launch Soon for above US $700?

Asus Eee PC ASUS’s Eee PC is currently one of the most popular ultra-mobile notebooks in the market but the company doesn’t seem satisfied with just that. Now, Asus has a new plan! The company plans to address different market segments by launching more Eee PCs, namely Ultimate S-series and Pro Fashion in 2008, according to Jerry Shen – President of Asustek.

Both the models will reportedly sport dual-core Atom processors and larger storage capacity (either 120 GB HDD or 32 GB SSD). The company will apparently incorporate 10.1-inch 16:9 ratio LED backlit panel and battery life of 4-5 hours in the 32 GB SSD version.

Aimed at high-end consumers, these models will supposedly carry a price range of US$700-900 (approx. Rs. 29,650-38,122). The 32 GB SSD version of Eee PC is slated to reach the market by September this year.

Asustek currently has a total of 11 Eee PC models on the market differentiated in terms of size, CPU type and design. Shen predicts total Eee PC shipment to cross the mark of 1.5-1.6 million units in the third quarter.
