Apple MacBook Air Pre-Order Shipment Started

Apple MacBook Air Some days back, Apple presented the world’s thinnest notebook named the MacBook Air. The company has now started shipping the MacBook Air that measures just 0.16-inch and is only 0.76-inches in height.

Consumers who have already pre-ordered the MacBook Air are expected to receive the notebook by today. It is believed that the upscale model will reach customers on 6th February.

Features of the Apple MacBook Air Notebook include:

  • Powered by Intel Core 2 Duo chip running at 1.6GHz, with an optional 1.8GHz
  • 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution
  • Built-in iSight webcam
  • Full sized MacBook-style black backlit keyboard with an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness
  • 1.8-inch hard disk drive with 80GB of storage capacity standard
  • Optional 64GB solid-state disk (SSD) drive
  • Parallel ATA (PATA) heard drive model that operates at 4200 RPM
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • 802.11n Wi-Fi technology
  • It seems Apple sticks to its promises! At the time of the Macworld Expo, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs announced that shipment would be done in two weeks’ time. However, the company’s web store mentions that the current shipping times are listed at two to three weeks.

    Apple’s MacBook Air comes with a retail cost of $1,799 (approx. Rs. 72,000).
