Sony Vaio SZ6 Series of Notebook PC announced

Sony Vaio has launched its latest SZ6 series to expand its VAIO SZ notebook series.

Sony Vaio SZ6 Series laptop SZ6 comes with Intel “Santa Rosa” laptop platform, hybrid graphics solutions, hybrid hard drives and 13.3-inch LED backlight displays. It is powered with Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 or T7700 processors.

Sony’s latest series features 160GB hybrid hard drives with 256MB of onboard Flash memory and 5400rpm rotational speed, or with the standard 120GB, 160GB or 200GB HDDs.

The SZ6 has built-in DVD burners, GM965 chipset-based hybrid graphics, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS GPU and an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. It also provides ExpressCard and PCMCIA card slots, built in web camera, microphone and fingerprint reader, two USB ports, Firewire ports, VGA outputs, and 5-in-1 media card readers.

Similar to SZ series, SZ6 has the ability to switch between discrete video card and power-saving integrated graphics. Moreover, the viewer experiences razor thin 13.3-inch widescreen 1280×800 LED backlight XBRITE display.

With respect to connectivity terms, it offers Intel’s 4965 wireless module supporting 802.11n draft standard, Gigabit Ethernet, 56k modem, Bluetooth and wireless broadband service, provided by Sprint. The battery life gives three and six hours of continuous operation.
