Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 and S7210 Laptops Announced

Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 laptops Fujitsu has unveiled two new lightweight laptops, called the LifeBook S6510 and LifeBook S7210 that are designed for traveling professionals.

Both the notebook PCs run on Intel Core 2 Duo processor (ranging from 2-GHz to 2.4-GHz clock speed), include up to 4GB of RAM, a combo DVD/CD-RW or dual-layer DVD writer, a selection of shock-mounted hard drives ranging from 40GB to 120GB, a magnesium-alloy body, Turbo Memory, 1.3-megapixel webcam, a biometric fingerprint swipe sensor, an embedded Trusted Platform Module and a theft-deterrent security panel.

The 14-inch screen LifeBook S6510 sports a spill-resistant keyboard, the company’s Shock Sensor hard drive protection system and its battery life can be extended from 4.5 hours to 6 hours. While the LifeBook S7210 comes with a 14-inch screen thin-and-light design as well as longer battery life of 6.5 hours with an extended battery placed in the modular bay.

With the latest LifeBook laptops, Windows Vista Business or XP operating systems, a modem, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are pre-loaded. In terms of security, the LifeBook S7210 comes with a smart card slot, a theft-deterrent security panel with more than 800,000 passwords, and the optional Computrace LoJack service, which tracks and recovers lost or stolen notebooks when they connect to the Web.

The Fujitsu LifeBook S6510 starts at $1,529 (approx. Rs. 61,200), whereas the LifeBook S7210 starts at $1,329 (approx. Rs. 53,600). S6510 and S7210 are currently available for sale.
