Felix Schmidberger has designed a concept model of the laptop called Compenion, which might be used by people around in 2015.
Need of the keyboard is eliminated by a touchscreen OLED display. The OLED display serves both the purposes of a monitor and a keyboard. The laptop can be controlled by a senstylus pen or by hand.
Besides portable office, users can also convert the laptop in home entertainment system with the help of external docking system.
The Compenion will be a flexible device and will be able to adapt to the environment in which the user is using it. For example, the home dock might have a projector for viewing video, while the office might include ergonomic stuff like an external keyboard.
The Compenion is just a concept model yet, but is expected to be launched by 2010. Till then we can use our regular laptops.
