General Dynamics GoBook MR-1 Officially Unveiled

GoBook MR-1 General Dynamic Itronix has launched a fully rugged computer, named GoBook MR-1. The notebook is portable and durable, and is categorized as an ‘ultra-mobile’ Computer. The company targets at the industrial, commercial, military and government consumers.

At two pounds, the GoBook is lightweight measuring 4.3 x 6 inches.

Mike DiBiase, Vice President of computing technologies for General Dynamics C4 Systems, comments, “This ultra-mobile notebook was developed with the needs of both defense and commercial users in mind. The development and successful launch speaks to the company’s ability to address the rugged computing needs of customers in virtually all conditions and operating environments.”

The features of the new GoBook MR-1 are:

  • DynaVue touchscreen display technology
  • 1.2GHz Intel Core Solo-U1400 Processor
  • Up to 1 GB of RAM
  • 3D Intel Extreme Graphics with up to 128MB of graphics memory
  • 3- and 6-hour battery life options: 4000 mAH (29W) Lithium Polymer main battery or optional 8000 mAH (59W) Lithium Polymer extended battery pack
  • 40 GB or 80GB (optional) HDD
  • 16 GB or 32 GB solid state hard disk drive option
  • 5.6- wide SVGA outdoor viewable LCD display
  • Four wireless radios
  • WLAN, PAN, GPS and WWAN

    The specs also add MIL-STD 810F for temperature, drop, vibration tests and even IP-54 for dust and humidity.

    The GoBook MR-1 will be available in September this year for $4,450 in U.S.
